108 Word Search Puzzles with the American Sign Language Alphabet, Volume 5
Standard Edition
What this book is:
A large-format puzzle and practice book for ASL fingerspelling recognition, built around the American Sign Language alphabet. It is designed for sign language learners, teachers, homeschool families, and anyone who wants focused, playful practice with ASL handshapes.
Fingerspelling is only one part of American Sign Language, but recognizing fingerspelled handshapes in everyday communication can be difficult for learners. These puzzles offer structured practice with ASL alphabet handshape recognition.
What this book contains:
This volume contains 108 handcrafted ASL fingerspelling word search puzzles with varied topics and curated vocabulary.
The handshape illustrations were purpose-built using a custom professional sign language font and validated by at least two independent, recognized experts, including an expert from Gallaudet University. All signs are shown from the viewer’s perspective.
Also included: an ASL alphabet reference chart, solutions for all puzzles, and two bonus cut-out alphabet charts.
Created for Project FingerAlphabet—a pro bono publico project dedicated to making accurate sign language materials freely accessible. The project was nominated for the German Award for Civic Engagement. Free downloadable alphabet charts for more than twelve sign languages are available at fingeralphabet.org.
Primary market
USA (ASL learners, homeschool families, sign language educators).
Note:
This is a puzzle and practice book for ASL fingerspelling recognition. It is not a full American Sign Language course.
